Our History
Two decades of English–Turkish language expertise
G Translation has been operating since 2002, providing English–Turkish translation and interpreting services from our London base. What began as a specialist freelance practice has grown into a trusted practice serving individuals, families, businesses and law firms across the UK and Turkey.
Over more than twenty years we have built deep familiarity with the documents and terminology that UK institutions expect — from civil registry certificates and academic diplomas to litigation bundles, medical reports and immigration evidence. G Translation’s work is led by Selcuk Ozmus, a qualified English–Turkish translator and interpreter with over a decade of direct experience partnering with UK solicitors, law firms and private individuals. Selcuk holds the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) in English–Turkish Law, obtained through the Institute of Linguists, and is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).
This combination of professional membership and specialist legal qualification underpins the accuracy and reliability that UK courts, the Home Office and solicitors rely on. Every certified translation is prepared and signed by Selcuk, carrying his credentials and a formal Statement of Accuracy.
Based in London, Selcuk works with clients across the UK and Turkey, handling everything from a single birth certificate to a full litigation bundle with the same care and attention to detail.

Understanding Certified Translation in the UK
The term “sworn translator” is used differently in Türkiye and the United Kingdom. In Türkiye, sworn translator status is commonly obtained through a notary after completing relevant academic training. In the UK, translators and interpreters may demonstrate their professional qualifications through recognised university programmes, professional qualifications and membership of relevant professional bodies. The right certification or supporting statement depends on the organisation receiving the translation, which is why we help clients identify the appropriate format for their documents.
